The Marijuana Herald Study: High-Dose Psilocybin May Be Effective in Treating Depression

A new study published in the British Medical Journal suggests that high-dose psilocybin may be effective in treating depression, outperforming escitalopram in trials. The research, conducted by a team in Taiwan, found that while most psychedelics showed benefits over placebo in treating depression, only high-dose psilocybin was more effective than escitalopram. Importantly, no severe adverse events or increased discontinuation rates were associated with psilocybin, although the effect size was considered small.
